Application Process
Qualified LPNs may receive advanced standing into term 5 of the BScN program. To gain advanced entry, applicants must meet all admissions requirements and complete 4 mandatory courses in a Bridging Term.
- August intake: The Bridging Term runs from August to December annually, with the BScN Advanced Entry program starting in January annually.
- April 2026 intake (one-time April intake): The Bridging Term runs from April to August, with the BScN Advanced Entry program starting in September 2026.
This is a selection based program based on a combination of GPA and CASPer® assessment. The CASPer assessment is valid for one admission cycle only. CASPer results are not provided to applicants by CASPer or VCC. Please see the CASPer Information for Prospective Students for details.
You must meet a minimum GPA of 2.33 in order to be considered, based on your 18 required university transfer credits. Applicants with higher GPAs are much more likely to be successful in the selection process. If you are missing any requirements, your application will be cancelled.
Indigenous applicants: You are encouraged to reach out to Indigenous Services for assistance with becoming a VCC student.
Acceptable university level courses: If you completed your university level courses in BC, you are strongly encouraged to check the transferability of your courses to VCC in the BC Transfer Guide. Only transferable courses meet the educational requirements (for example, BCIT BHSC 1200 is not accepted for BIOL 1120/1220 credits). In the BC Transfer Guide, remember to enter the institution you completed your course at in the 'from' field and VCC in the 'to' field.
- Note: If your courses were completed outside of BC, or if you have questions about the transferability of your courses, please call 604.871.7000, option 2 to make an appointment with an Advisor.
