Students are introduced to the use of computers in the business environment. Topics covered include word processing, presentation graphics and spreadsheets. Computer concepts including software and data communications are covered at the intermediate level.

What you will learn

  • Introduction to Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Document formatting using character, paragraph, and document styles and templates
  • Managing lists and inserting tables
  • Inserting and formatting graphic objects
  • Navigating the Excel user interface, using Excel commands and entering cell data
  • Performing calculations, formatting and modifying worksheets
  • Printing and managing workbooks
  • Creating Microsoft PowerPoint presentations using slide view, outline view, and templates
  • Inserting, modifying and formatting text, graphics, audio and video on slides
  • Preparing presentation materials for delivery and export, including notes pages and handouts
