Fundamentals of Leadership is designed to expand the skills, tools and behaviours that students will require to confidently carry out the responsibilities of their role whether it is in a formal or informal leadership capacity.

What you will learn

  • Leadership Principles and Practices - Definition of Leadership, Managing and Administration
  • Working with Teams – the ability for teams to work together interdependently and cooperatively to accomplish a specific set of goals and commitments
  • Coaching skills for leaders
  • From Conflict to Collaboration – building cohesive relationships that are able to healthy conflict conversations and collaborate on reaching organization goals.
  • Getting work done through others – delegating and allowing others to develop to best of their potential.
  • Decision Making – learning different types of decision making tools to solve problems and finding alternative solutions to complex issues
  • Managing Change - Overview of change and transition
  • Culture and Climate in an organization - building trust, psychological safety, diversity and inclusivity
  • Resiliency – knowing oneself, leading from purpose and continually learning builds resiliency, which is required to lead successfully in complex times
