This course will assist learners in gaining knowledge and experience providing oral health education, oral health promotion, and radiographic services. Learners will gain further knowledge about professionalism, communication and collaboration strategies, and principles of client advocacy relevant to dental hygiene practice.

  • Health promotion and advocacy for a diverse range of individual clients, including principles of Cultural Safety & Humility
  • Oral self-care strategies; health education/health promotion
  • Inter-professional and team-based care
  • Dental hygiene care - assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Radiology principles and application of dental imaging techniques.
