This lecture/seminar course focuses on the principles of teaching and learning and the relationship to oral self-care instruction. The role of the Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) in preventive and esthetic dental procedures as well as the specialties of oral and maxillofacial surgery and endodontics are studied. Additionally, students are prepared for their second practicum rotations in a dental practice setting.

This course is part of the full-time Certified Dental Assisting Program.
