IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is an internationally established English Language proficiency test. This test prep course is designed to prepare students to achieve an IELTS 6.5 - 7.0 score in listening, speaking, reading and writing.
Prerequisites
ELSK 0720 and ELSK 0715; or combination of one' 20' course and one '15' course of ELSK 0815, ELSK 0820, ELSK 0915, ELSK 0920; or ELSK 0930; or CLB/CLBPT at Level 7 in all skills; or English Language Assessment of 36 in Reading, 13 in Essay, 20 in Listening, 24 in Speaking; or IELTS score of 6.0 or higher in all skills; or Department approval.

- preparing and delivering 1-2 minute presentation
- responding to questions/prompts using description, comparison, argument, opinion
- Writing:
- analysis of writing samples at appropriate band levels
- describing a chart, graph, or table
- writing to give an opinion or make a comparison
- Reading:
- skimming, scanning
- understanding inferences, main ideas and opinions
- completing true and false, multiple choice, short answer, and sentence completion questions
