Current and past projects
ECE training delivered in the Musqueam Nation
Indigenous learners gained essential skills and culturally-informed early childhood education (ECE) training on-site at the Musqueam Nation reserve in a project coordinated by VCC’s partnership development office. A Musqueam Elder supported the students during class alongside qualified VCC ECE instructors to deliver a robust curriculum.

National project prepares students for warehousing jobs
To help communities bounce back after the pandemic, VCC’s partnership development office collaborated with Mohawk College, Red River College Polytechnic, and Nova Scotia Community College to deliver a Canada-wide materials handling training program. The training prepared students for starting roles in warehousing, forklift operations, and certification in Manufacturing Skill Standards Council.

Medical office training opens doors to meaningful work
Individuals facing multiple barriers received a combination of occupational skills training, on-the-job work experience, and follow-up support in a medical assistant training project developed by the partnership development office and local WorkBC centres, sector employers, community service agencies and VCC’s applied business department.
