This course introduces students to pre-start and walk around inspections, starting aids, start up procedures, emergency shut down procedures, equipment operation and shutdown, heavy duty equipment lock out, forklift operation, electric vehicle safety, and the selection and maintenance of lubrication. Students can also earn a forklift certification. Topics included are from SkilledTradesBC. Heavy Mechanical Trades Foundation Program (2025) sections A6 and A9.
