Supporting a respectful campus
Everyone deserves to feel safe, included, and treated with respect. That includes students, instructors, and staff. Being part of the VCC community means caring for the people around you. How we act and treat others makes a difference.
Your role at VCC
We all play a part in keeping VCC a respectful and welcoming place.
We ask you to:
- Help create an environment where everyone feels welcome
- Be kind and respectful in words and actions
- Take responsibility for your choices
- Honour personal and cultural boundaries
If something happens, we’ll listen
The Student Conduct office supports students to act in a manner that respects others and promotes their well-being and safety. Poor conduct, harassment, bullying, discrimination, and sexual violence and misconduct will not be tolerated. We review, investigate, and support students who bring forward a concern.
Your rights matter too
If a concern is brought forward involving you, you have the right to:
- Know what the concern is about
- Be heard
- Access support
- Have the process explained clearly
- Be treated with fairness and respect
We’ll work with you to find a path that protects everyone’s right to learn and feel safe.
The policies that guide us
Our conduct process is based on a few key policies. These are written to protect fairness and safety across campus:
- Student Non-Academic Conduct Policy (324) [link]
- Academic Integrity (325) [link]
- Prevention of Harassment, Discrimination, and Bullying (201) [link]
- Sexual Violence and Misconduct (210) [link]
We know policies can feel intimidating. We’re happy to walk you through them if you have questions.
