Our commitment to an inclusive campus

Accessibility is a core part of our college’s mission and a guiding principle in everything we do. VCC is committed to creating an inclusive environment where every student, employee, and community member can participate fully, without barriers.

Accessibility plan

The Accessible BC Act, which came into effect in October 2022, aims to improve the lives of people with disabilities by promoting accessibility and inclusion in all areas of society.

It provides a framework for developing accessibility standards and plans, as well as a mechanism for addressing complaints related to accessibility barriers. The following Accessibility Plan was created in consultation with a diverse group of partners within the college and the accessibility committee.

Web accessibility standards

At VCC, we strive to maintain strong web accessibility standards so everyone can access our online content with ease. We follow recognized guidelines – including WCAG best practices – to ensure our websites are readable, usable, and inclusive for all visitors. Through continuous testing, ongoing improvements, and accessible design principles, we work to create online experiences that reduce barriers and support user participation.
