This non-technical course is designed to help students access their creativity and expression with a view to developing a portfolio for entry into the full-time Jewellery Art and Design program*. Introductions to drawing, design, 3D forms, and understanding contemporary art with be covered. Classes will include hands-on exercises, visual presentations, group discussions, and a field trip to the Vancouver Art Gallery. Approximately 2 hours per week of take home projects will be required. Extra materials: $20. *Please note that participation in this course does not guarantee entry into the Jewellery Art and Design program.
