Take your jewellery making hobby to the next level. This course teaches students the basic techniques of jewellery-making including piercing, filing, soldering, shaping, forming, design layout, and application. Students will create original designs in silver and can expect to make one or more finger rings and a piece of chain while working at their own jeweller's bench equipped with a torch and flexshaft tool.

  • Jewellery tools
    Sawing, filing & drilling
    Making a sanding stick (cedar lathe & sand paper)
    Shape & stretch ring to size
    Dome ring; flare ring; spinner ring
    Rivetting and doming metal
    Jump rings & ear wires
    Finishing & polishing
    Textures on metal with files, sand paper, sanding disks, flexshaft disks
    S-hooks
    Toggle catch
    Liver of sulphur patina
