In this course students will learn about the roles and features of a windows server, and will be introduced to network storage options as well as Active Directory components. In addition, students will gain an understanding of DNS and DHCP. This course builds on the concepts covered in Networking Fundamentals.

  • Install and configure a Windows Server
    Roles, Services, and features
    Introduction to Active Directory, including group policy
    Monitoring performance and events
    Introduction to security
    File sharing
    File systems, including NTFS, EXT4 and erasure coding
    File system RAID levels
    Windows firewall
    Storage: Network Attached Storage, Storage Area Network (host bus adapters), Fibre channel
    Domain Name System (DNS)
    Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP)
