What is an official transcript?
To receive an unconditional offer, you must submit official transcripts from all prior academic institutions.
Unofficial copies may be accepted for initial review or conditional offers, but official documents are required later.
Transcripts are considered official only when:
- Sent by the issuing institution in a sealed, untampered envelope with their institutional seal, stamp, or signature
- Or sent electronically from the sending institution via a verified transcript service
How to submit official transcripts
High school transcripts
- BC high school transcripts can be sent electronically via the Student Transcripts Service (STS)
- All other high school transcripts must be mailed directly by your school or issuing authority
- Physical transcripts will not be returned to you
Post-secondary transcripts
- Select BC post-secondary institutions can send transcripts electronically to VCC (e.g. Capilano, Douglas, Langara, SFU, UVic, and more)
- Institutions not on that list must send transcripts by mail
- As with high school transcripts, mailed copies are not returned
Transcripts in another language
- Submit an official translation in addition to the original transcript
- The translation must be complete, literal, and done by a recognized translation service
- For transcripts originally in French from Canadian institutions, translation is not required
